Hocking College Winter Break FAQs

Winter Break: December 21, 2020 - January 8, 2021

All Hocking College campuses will be CLOSED for Winter Break from December 21, 2020 — January 8, 2021. This means all college buildings and offices will also be closed. All campuses will reopen on Monday, January 11, 2021.

Please note there will be on-campus, in-person, or telephone student services available during the Winter Break.

All offices and services below will be closed on all Hocking College campuses:

  • All academic departments and faculty offices 
  • Bookstore 
  • Cashier's Office 
  • Counseling services 
  • Financial Aid 
  • Library 
  • Parking lots 
  • Registrar's Office 
  • Student IDs 
  • Student Center
  • Testing Center 
  • Veterans services

Staff will be available to answer phones and monitor the website's chat line during the break. 

You'll be able to access the following online: 

Hawks Nest Dining will be open from 9AM until 3PM from December 12, 2019 - December 21, 2019 with a modified menu.

It will be closed from December 22 through January 4. There is no housing or dining available during winter break. Students are permitted to leave personal items in the buildings during the break, but all perishable items must be disposed of or taken home.

Hawks Nest Dining will reopen from 9AM until 3PM from January 5, 2020 - January 11, 2020 with a modified menu.

Spring semester hours (beginning January 12, 2020) will be as follows:

Monday - Friday: 7AM - 7PM
Saturday - Sunday: 11AM - 5PM

Yes, you can still register for Spring 2021 classes by contacting Admissions at admissions@hocking.edu.

You may encounter several different types of restrictions when registering online. If you have a financial restriction such as an unpaid fee, parking ticket, etc., or other restrictions that require personal assistance - such as an academic restriction or financial aid restriction - you will have to wait until offices reopen on January 11, 2021.

If a student is on financial aid hold, they must complete a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal for consideration of financial aid. The deadline for the SAP appeal is January 4, 2021.

Requests for Hocking College transcripts will not be filled during the break. Transcripts can still be ordered online, but orders will not be processed until after the college reopens on January 11, 2021.
