Hocking College Winter Break FAQs

Winter Break: December 18, 2023 - January 2, 2024

All Hocking College campuses will be CLOSED for Winter Break from December 18, 2023 — January 2, 2024. This means all college buildings and offices will also be closed. All campuses and offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Please note there will be online and telephone student services available during the Winter Break.

You'll be able to access the following online: 

Hawks Nest Dining will be open with limited hours from December 11 - December 15 with a modified menu.

It will be closed from December 16 through January 2. There is no housing or dining available during winter break. Students are permitted to leave personal items in the buildings during the break, but all perishable items must be disposed of or taken home.

Hawks Nest Dining will reopen from with limited hours during Spring Start Week (the week prior to classes beginning) with a modified menu.

Yes, you can still register for Spring 2024 classes by contacting Admissions at admissions@hocking.edu.

You may encounter several different types of restrictions when registering online. If you have a financial restriction such as an unpaid fee, parking ticket, etc., or other restrictions that require personal assistance - such as an academic restriction or financial aid restriction - you will have to wait until offices reopen in January.

If a student is on financial aid hold, they must complete a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal for consideration of financial aid.

Requests for Hocking College transcripts will not be filled during the break. Transcripts can still be ordered online, but orders will not be processed until after the college reopens in January.
